The church has found herself in a very peculiar position. She's facing off with culture and its gods. She must make a choice and soon. On one side, we have the church deeply entrenched in culture. On the other side, we have the church deeply entrenched in religious practices with no power. This tug-of-war has been going on since the founding apostles left the scene. Many movements have come and gone, but none of them have lasted. Denominations have stepped up to the plate but could only offer us an Eli model. Men have stepped up to the plate but their bias and treatment of women could only bring us emotions not empowerment. Women have stepped up to the plate only to have the men use scripture to fall back and the women to castragate and demean them so their run was short lived or never got off the ground. Any other move that is not mentioned can clearly be added to the list of mixing and merging gods which in turn makes us sterile. How can this be? Because the nation of Jesus Christ biblically is always known for her victory, strength and resilience. Not so anymore. The nation of Jesus Christ is now spoke about as a has been. So once again the church, the body of Christ, the nation of Jesus Christ, is now at crossroads. It's either go back to what worked or continue to be the witches mockery. It's either get back under the monarchy of the most high or continue to suffer humiliating defeats, soothing words from powerful men and women who try to lessen the blows of shame the nation is under. We must admit the stripping of the nation of Jesus Christ in front of other nations is outright embarrassing. But we've done this to ourselves. So how do we proceed? Here's my answer. No longer can we mingle the waters and muddy the lines between church and culture. The nation of Jesus Christ is now forced to choose between scriptures and/or culture. Side note...In scripture Christianity does have a culture...and I'm not referring to the history of the slaughtering that crusaders did while calling themselves Christians. I'm referring to the culture that was laid in scripture as the 12 disciples graduated to Apostles in the upper room in the book of Acts. But until we revisit the place of our greatest power we will stay in the battle. We can all agree that this battle has been raging for years. On one hand, we have those who completely denounced current culture and oppose its mingling with the body of Christ. On the other hand, some believe that scripture and current culture can actually partner to bring about The Will of God in the earth so, let's explore. When we look at the life of Jesus Christ through scripture, who is the churches founder, we see that he always brought the dichotomy.
Jesus says in Matthew 10:34 34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Apostle Paul says
Don’t become partners with those who reject God. How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? That’s not partnership; that’s war. Is light best friends with dark? Does Christ go strolling with the Devil? Do trust and mistrust hold hands? Who would think of setting up pagan idols in God’s holy Temple? But that is exactly what we are, each of us a temple in whom God lives. God himself put it this way: “I’ll live in them, move into them; I’ll be their God and they’ll be my people. So leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good,” says God. “Don’t link up with those who will pollute you. I want you all for myself. I’ll be a Father to you; you’ll be sons and daughters to me.” The Word of the Master, God. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
So the question becomes how can you be a child of God and partner with a culture that hates God and that God hates.
When I was younger in my faith, I just knew that there was someway that culture and the Lord could partner. I just need to find that way. As I'm matured in my faith, I came to understand that Satan's culture could never coexist with God's Church. It could never be. The desire to have culture and Christ partner never cancels out the fact that Jesus came to bring dichotomy. Matthew 10:33-39. Why? Because the devils run the planet and the church was set in the earth to take it back and to represent its true God without compromising. In case you're reading this with doubt, skepticism, and disdain please remember the enemies of God are your enemies simply because you are the object of His affection. They hate you. You inherited them when you were born. They hate humans, especially the humans who are converted into their God form and can defeat them like Jesus Christ. As He was in this world so are we. To sum it all up...we have the ministry of dichotomy.
