The first thing The Lord does to awaken a prophet is Numbers 12:6. The Lord Himself reveals.
'Numbers 12:6 King James Version (KJV)And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. '
Please understand just because you have dreams and visions this does not automatically make you a prophet. God is streaming dreams and visions to pastors, teachers, evangelist, singers, children, men, women, blue collar professionals, white collar professionals, craftsmen, Artist, producers, ect., it is often how he communicates with His creation. So dreams and visions alone do not make you a prophet, although you could be.
The second method (stage) that strongly suggests you are a prophet is Proverbs 18:12. God is now coming after everything that will not be useful to Him as you may sit as a commissioned ambassador or officer. Since you are already endowed supernaturally for the office the end result of these lessons should strengthen and purify the mantle.
12 Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
but humility comes before honor.
This is one way to know for sure that you are now being awakened for training and service as The Lord's prophet. God begins to come after your pride, arrogance, and haughtiness. Why? Because of what I like to call a divine restraining order. The Lord begins to purge as well as develop parameters and guards of how He will permit His future officer to function in His eternal seat if it's granted to you.
God will ‘never’ use a man/woman that His Spirit cannot restrain.
Divine restraint is the key to spiritual authority.
Genesis 2:15-17
And what's the lesson in this?
The lesson for the prophet in training is God is the source of Adams authority by His commands (And the LORD GOD COMMANDED ADAM) just like He will be the source of the future officers authority by His commands.
Am I a prophet? If God is streaming dreams and visions. If you find yourself moving into stage two then chances are more than likely God has came to you according to Numbers 12:6, and told you Himself you are a prophet. In addition, you've more than likely had other officers prophesy the same to you all throughout your life. There are also other indicators that start at birth and mark the life of a prophet that also confirms the prophet. And finally, you not only have dreams and visions, you not only can prophesy, but you are being stripped by the Most High because He is establishing His divine restraining orders inside of you. If all of these are working for and in you. Then I would confidently say you are a prophet of the Lord.
