Inspired by, Why Obey God

Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. “I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.

1 Samuel 17:38-40

So now we're on our last point of victory. So what is the third thing that we need to know? The third thing we need to know is what David knew and what he said to Saul when he was getting ready to go fight the philistines. He tried on Saul's armour and he said, ' I 'm not use to 'em. You want to know why? Because he was use to his own methods. So he put down methods that he was not use to and the methods that God didn't give him to use to fight his giants. And then he took and picked back up what God used (with him) and the arsenal God gave him to fight his own battles. What am I saying? Anytime we try to use someone else's methods, someone else's cause...I wish I had what they had...we will always lose the battle. But when we pick up the arsenal that God has given us...when we pick it up and use what God has given us we are assured victory. See, God has given everyone a skill set ...once again...to face the giants in their life. So my question to you my friend is, will you use your own skill set or will you not succeed by trying to use everyone else's skill set. Or skill sets that other people want you to use. God is trusting you with the skill set He has given you. And He is depending on you to use what He's given you to get over the mountains and the giants that are placed before you. He's equipped you for the victory. But will you use your own tools and skill sets for that victory?
