GRAFTING

I remember the first time I met my friend. I never knew he had a skin graft until one day it was hot outside and he wore shorts. It was then I saw the operation patches on his legs. If you've ever seen anyone who has ever burned their skin then you know that the only way to replace and heal it is with a process called grafting. In this process of grafting a piece of healthy skin is attached to a damaged part of your body by a medical operation in order to replace it.  So now the healthy skin has in essence merged with the damaged skin and starts the process of strengthening and replacing. But if something is foreign then the graft will not take and it can cause infection or failure. See, this is what's happening to your Jeremiah 29:11. Just like your new birth when God's word is engrafted by Him in our hearts it takes and strengthens and gives us the power to obey. If you ever find yourself having trouble obeying the voice of the Lord could it be that the word is no longer replacing the damaged areas? Could it be that His power to enable you is stopped by something foreign? Could it be your allowing another voice to take over His process of grafting? Could it be another voice trying to play God and interpret God's word for you? My friends substituting any other word for God's word will not get the same results. Your Jeremiah 29:11 depends on you obeying God. It's awesome how God's word not only strengthens us but enables us to obey. I touch and agree with you today that God's voice supersedes every voice and that you receive Gods enabling power to move into your Jeremiah 29:11 as God has spoken it to you and not men. And I disallow and veto every foreign voice that tries to insert itself into your graft to make it fail or give you an infection to cause you not to hear the voice of God and to step into your Jeremiah 29:11.
