This was no ordinary Sunday. Jesus enters Jerusalem riding a donkey, a symbol of peace and humility, and is met by people waving palm branches and shouting Hosanna. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, for most Christians this is the most sacred part of the year. Palm Sunday serves as a time for reflection. The entry of Jesus into Jerusalem would be the beginning of a week that would change eternity and humanity forever. This is the week that the passion of Christ secured our way back to God. This eternity changing event is described in all four Gospels (Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, and John 12:12-19).
