CRYSTAL SHERIE - April 2nd, 2025
As I began to meditate on these passages of scripture that I've read so often ...something stuck out to me that I'd never seen before. Let's get to the point. Why did Jesus curse the leafy tree that had no fruit on it? I asked myself this a million times. But then I saw something that helped me think about this encounter differently. What if this really wasn't about the tree? Let's look at what Jesus did BEFORE he encountered the tree. The bible says Jesus was in Jerusalem flipping over tables while the Pharisee's and Sadducee's were about to hand Jesus over to be crucified. So let's do a quick recap - Jesus walks a long way because He sees a leafy tree. Although this wasn't the season for fruit the tree looked like it had fruit because of all the leaves...sound familiar? But as Jesus gets close up to inspect it, He sees no fruit. That's like being thirsty and turning on the facet and no water coming out. Or being hungry and walking over to a huge refrigerator just to open the door and find no food in it. Get the picture? But it gets a bit deeper. What if I told you the leafy tree symbolized that current state of Israel at that time? A form of godliness but no power. Looked right on the outside...but nothing to taste and nourish the soul. That makes more sense. If we can't see the fruit of God from what you say you are...then you are just like that leafy fig tree Jesus cursed. Remember Jesus came to be a curse for us...to nail every 'unfruitful and leafy thing in our life so that we cannot only be leafy but fruitful...and produce fruit in the right season. We can claim a lot of things...but if there is no fruit produced by the Holy Ghost then we are cursed just like that leafy tree. My friends, the only way to be fruitful in and out of season is to tap into your Jeremiah 29:11. Because there is no way you can be cursed when in God's process and God's plan for your life. Today is a great day to lock into destiny.
