PERCEIVE NOT

I was speaking yesterday with someone about something I believe we can all relate to. When my ex-father in law passed away some years ago the expression on my ex-mother in law's face was tale telling. I knew her heart couldn't survive this. Over 50 plus yrs of being together and it was finally over. The marriage vows were completed by death.  Although the family was obviously devastated. Of their five children some took it harder than others. One in particular started partying and traveling. Just going everywhere and doing everything. Not too much later their mother informed them that she wasn't feeling too well. Everyone but that particular person understood that their mother's time on the planet was reaching it's end. God even gave a message to a prophet to deliver to this individual to slow down and go spend time with their mother because her time on the planet was short. When the discussions came up about their mother this individual would brush it off as grief or sorrow their mom would eventually get over it. They saw their moms condition worsen but yet, they brushed it off as something else. Then their mom passed. They were devastated. Bewildered. But in all reality they saw and heard but failed to grasp the moment they were in. Isaiah predicted this same response and condition in the children of Israel. This is what happens when you won't make a heart adjustment to a warning or instruction.  When the heart adjusts then your actions will follow. Even the outward signs didn't convince them that their moms time was short. So they saw their moms condition themselves and they were told but they still failed to respond. This is what Jesus calls hardness of heart and blindness of mind.  You heard the warnings, seen the signs, but still couldn't capture the essence of what was really happening. These are the sort of things that happen when you perceive not. My friends, there is such a place in life, if we're not careful, where we can fall into unbelief and disregard. Be careful not to miss the moments that were strategically crafted for you because once they are gone you may never get them back. Today is a great day to seize the moment and get into your Jeremiah 29:11. These upcoming moments in your life you absolutely cannot afford to miss. Get in position.
